Emergent Future – Reimagining Our World Together at Asia Plateau
This year, WeLiterate’s Research and Development Manager, Dawod, had the privilege of
attending the Emergent Future event held at Asia Plateau, Panchgani, India. Sponsored by
WeLiterate, Dawod joined global guests and speakers from diverse backgrounds over five
days to collectively explore and make sense of the complexities of our world.
Key Highlights:
Day One: Arrival

• Gathered with IofC representatives at Mumbai airport.
• Welcomed warmly upon arrival in Panchgani.
• Participated in the opening ceremony and dinner with fellow attendees.
  Day Two: Reality
• Engaged in introductory activities and received event briefings.
• Explored the impressive centre, showcasing diverse art reflecting global inclusion
  values.
• Visited local attractions, including Strawberry farms, a Fudge factory, Malas, and
  Kate’s view.
  Day Three: Hope
• Connected with nature in silence in the morning.
• Listened to inspiring stories of hope in villages and cities.
• Engaged with individuals sharing personal struggles and inner transformations.
• Highlight: Imad, a Palestinian filmmaker and documentary award winner,
  emphasized the power of storytelling.
  Day Four: Faith
• Met in the spiritual prayer room, exploring religious texts and diverse faith
  traditions.
• Listened to faith members, including Rabbi Jeff, fostering understanding across
  religious and racial differences.
• Explored religions originating in India, such as Buddhism and Hinduism.
  Day Five: Closing
• Shared insights and charted paths forward in alignment with WeLiterate’s mission.
• The conference’s conclusion emphasized collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
  Attending this transformative event allowed Dawod to expand his network, gain valuable
  insights, and contribute to WeLiterate’s mission of fostering collaboration for impactful
  solutions.
